Every MCP tool call runs as you, and is scoped to your Flexport client-account role. A tool is only callable if your role is one of the roles listed in its Permissions (any of) line.

| Admin | Full account administrator — can view and act on all shipment data, and additionally manage the account's users and billing. |
| Billing | Can manage the account's billing information. Cannot manage users. |
| Member | Standard account user — can view and edit shipment and order data. Cannot manage users or billing. |
| Analyst | Read-only equivalent of Member — sees what a Member sees, but cannot edit or delete. |
| Tracker | Most restricted role — read-only access to a narrower subset, primarily shipment tracking and visibility. |
